Toasty Warm Legwarmers




PATTERN NOTES:


Yarn/Yardage: Sample was made out of I Love This Yarn (100% acrylic yarn, 355 yards, per 199 grams) in the Arctic colorway. Any worsted weight yarn of approximately 120 (150, 200) grams will do.


Gauge: 20 stitches X 12 rows over 4 inches in Double Crochet Stitch


Hook: H/5mm. Or size needed to obtain gauge.


Notions: Yarn needle, scissors


Sizes: Pattern has three sizes, measuring 8 (12, 16) inches in circumference at it's widest point. Differing instructions for each size will be written as 1 (2, 3). Pick the size that has the most comfortable amount of ease/fit for your leg.


Abbreviations:


Ch- chain


BLO- Back Loop Only


BPDC- Back Post Double Crochet


dc- double crochet


FPDC- Front Post Double Crochet


sl- Slip


st- stitch


R- Row


Rep- Repeat


Rnd- Round


RS- Right Side

Pattern:


Bottom Cuff:


Make Slip Knot and ch 11 sts. Starting from 2ed ch from hook, sc across all sts. (10 sts). Turn work.


R1: Ch 1, sc BLO across all sts.


Rep R1 for 31 Rows.


Fold work in half, lining up Starting Chain to your last row. Sl st the rows together so your work is now in the round. Flip Cuff inside out (this will be your RS).

Leg:


Ch1 (counts as 1 st), sc around the top edge of Cuff, picking up-


Size 1: 1 st for every Row (32 sts)


Size 2: 2 sts every other Row (48 sts)


Size 3: 2 sts for every Row (64 sts)


Sl st into ch1 st.


Patterning:


Set Up:


Ch2, dc into all sts all the way around. Sl st into top of ch2.


Rnd 1: Ch2, [BPDC 3, 1 dc] all the way around, ending with BPDC 3. Sl st into top of ch2


Rnd 2: Ch2, [3 dc, FPDC 1] all the way around, ending with dc 3. Sl st into top of ch2


Rep Rnds 1 & 2 for x (y, z) reps, or until legwarmer is desired length.


Top Cuff:


Ch 11, starting in 2ed ch from hook, sc 10 sts, sl st 2 sts from Legwarmer. Turn work.



R1: Starting in 3ed ch from hook, sc BLO across all sts. Turn work.


R2: Ch 1, sc BLO across 10 sts, sl st 2 sts from Legwarmer. Turn work.


Rep Rows 1 & 2 until there are no more sts from Legwarmer. Flip work inside out and line up starting edge to last row. Sl st closed. Cut yarn and fasten off.


Rep Instructions from Bottom Cuff To Top Cuff for 2ed Legwarmer. Weave in ends, block if desired.
