Waffle Stitch Written Instructions

Welcome to the 5X5 Stitch Challenge, Crochet Edition! For the first 5 months of the year, we are going to be expanding our stitching skills by learning new stitch patterns. Are you ready? First up is the Waffle Stitch.

The Waffle Stitch is a fun textured stitch pattern made by alternating the use of Front Post, Back Post, and Regular Double Crochets. Depending on your gauge, this stitch pattern can be made so squishy, perfect for cozy socks, a warm blanket, and anything else you can think of!

What You'll Need:

Some scrap yarn and a hook in a good size to go with it. Because this is just a swatch, you can use anything you like. I like to use worsted yarn and my favorite H/5 mm hook when swatching.

Abbreviations:

Ch- chain

BPDC- Back Post Double Crochet

dc- double crochet

FPDC- Front Post Double Crochet

sl- Slip

st- stitch

Rnd- Round
